Korea’s short-track skater Lee Jung-su, 22, won the final in the men’s 1,500-meter event of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics (Feb. 12 -28) and became the first Korean athlete to win the gold medal on Sunday (Feb. 14), Korean time.
Lee reached the final line, clocking 2:17.622. Ranked number one during the 2009-2010 Season World Cup, this was his first Olympic competition. By Kim Hee-sungKorea.net Staff Writer

Athletes from Slovakia and Belarus won the first Winter Olympic gold medal for the countries. Norway's cross-country skier Merit Bijergen has won five more medals than the athlete.
